A FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

Please Be on Time:

The City of Independence requests a limited number of clients for a home business. Lessons have been spaced apart accordingly.

Help me stay in compliance – by being on time to your lesson and for pick-up.

Parking:

Please pull into the driveway when coming for your lesson. If you text me that you are here, I am happy to walk smaller students into the studio.

Taking Care of Each Other:

Masks are optional.

If the student is too sick for school or work, they are too sick to come to their music lesson.

Please stop by the bathroom on the way into the studio and wash and sanitize your hands. If your child has an allergy to hand sanitizer, I ask that you please provide me with what you use as an alternative.

Materials are sanitized at the end of each lesson.

Practicing:

t’s important that students practice what is assigned during their lessons, so that progress is made each week.

At the beginning of each month, each student will receive a practice sheet. Weekly assignments will be written on this, and there will be a space to log the minutes that are practiced each day.

It is recommended that beginning students practice at least 15 to 20 minutes each day with the
expectation that this will gradually increase in time. It is also best that the student practice at a similar time each day, so it becomes a habit.

I will award a point for each day practiced. Parents may want to come up with a reward system that
corresponds with points earned during music lessons.

Missed Lessons:

If you know that you are going to miss a lesson, please let me know 24 hours ahead of time and a make-up lesson will be arranged. This allows me to provide your time slot to another student who might need a make-up.

If your lesson falls on a holiday, we will arrange a different time that week.

Waiting List:

I am only able to accommodate 10 private students a month, and will keep a waiting list.

If you decide to take time off from lessons (for example during the summer), please let me know so that I can fill your spot with someone from the waiting list.

Please be aware you may have to wait for a spot when you wish to return.

Parent Observations:

Parents are always welcome to stay and observe your student’s lesson. You know best what works for your child and their learning.

I do ask that students not bring friends to lessons as this can be a distraction. If siblings
are present, they must be under the supervision of a parent.

Payment:

A payment of $120 is due at the beginning of each month. Checks and cash are accepted. I am currently unable to accept payment by credit or debit card.

Students will receive a 30-minute lesson each week. If the month has five weeks - lucky you – that means a bonus lesson is coming your way!
